Museum of the Great War

Il museo "La Zona Carnia nella Grande Guerra 1915-1918" è dedicato alla Prima Guerra Mondiale e raccoglie numerosi reperti bellici italo-austriaci, migliaia di documenti inediti di straordinario valore storico, fotografie e armamenti. In estate, vengono anche organizzate visite guidate alle fortificazioni, alle trincee e ai camminamenti sui monti della valle.

Unfortunatly the recent histry about Paluzza is connected to the sad events of the Word Wars. About the First, the Great War, you can still see and cross part of the trenches of the battlefront in the high mountanins that are an important stop of the Traversata Carnica crossing the mountain crest and which it is preserved memory at the Museum of the Great War in Timau. Regarding the Second War Word memories concern mostly to July 1944 with the slaughter of the But valley from German soldiers misrepresented as a partisan. A sad page of history that every year is commemorate in all the villages in the valley.
